Walking Tour Brochure
The entire Walking Tour, from the intersection of Oella Avenue and Frederick Road (near site #1 on the map)all the way to Benjamin Banneker Park (site #31), is about 2 miles.
While the terrain is somewhat hilly, most of the inclines along the route are not steep. There are several places along Oella Avenue where the road is narrow and there are no sidewalks, so please take care as you walk. Walkers can park in the Lot A near the Stone Piers (site #5) and follow the map. The walking path that follows the route of the old street car tracks crosses Oella Avenue near the intersection Oella and Westchester Avenue. Walkers can return to the parking lot by taking the trail back to the Stone Pier (about 1 mile).
Alternatively, almost all of the sites are easily visible from Oella Avenue and the Tour can also be taken by car. Parking within Oella is very limited so please take note of any signs concerning parking in designated areas.
